The 20th International Congresso on In vitro Toxicology (ESTIV) will be held in Berlin.
The general theme of the Congress is “New approach methodologies for in vitro toxicology applications”, with 8 thematic sessions, a number of special sessions and 2 complimentary workshops, followed by a hands-on workshop.
The deadline for the abstract submission is 12 June.
In order to promote the participation of youngsters, a total of 8 student travel bursaries are provided.

On March 14th, 2018, an inaugural event of Centro 3R will be held. The event will be held in Pisa, at the "Le Benedettine" Congress Center of the University of Pisa.
The event will be attended by the Rectors of the Universities of Pisa and Genoa, internationally renowned researchers and new entrepreneurial realities, representatives of the regional and national institutions responsible for the implementation of the 3Rs, and representatives of important national and international associations.

The organs of Centro 3R has been defined.
The members of the Scientific Council were nominated by the Rectors of the Universities of Pisa and Genoa. They are:
- For the University of Pisa: Arti Ahluwalia (reference person), Maria Grazia Cascone, Patrizia Chetoni, Angelo Gazzano, Paolo Milazzo, Michela Novelli
- For the University of Genoa: Anna Maria Bassi (reference person), Manuela Marcoli, Laura Pastorino, Susanna Penco, Anna Pittalunga, Sonia Scarfì
The first meeting of the Council was held on January 25, 2018. On that occasion, the Director and Vice-Director of the centre were appointed and will remain in charge for a three-year period:
- Director: Arti Ahluwalia
- Vice-Director: Anna Maria Bassi
The agreement for the constitution of Centro 3R has been approved by the Boards of Directors of the University of Pisa and of the University of Genoa.
The Board of Directors of the University of Genoa approved the contitution of the center on November 22nd, 2017, after the positive opinion expressed by the Senate of the same univerisity on November 21st, 2017.
As regards the University of Pisa, the Board of Directors approved the constitution of the center on November 30th, 2017, after the positive opinion expressed by the Senate of the same university on November 16th, 2017.
In the next few days the agreement will be signed by the Rectors of the two universities making Centro 3R fully operational.
